Tuck Everlasting – A Summary

This picture was a class assignment. The assignment was to draw a scene from a book. The book was Tuck Everlasting, written by Natalie Babbitt. We were asked to read the chapters 1 – 5 and draw a picture which illustrates a scene from the book.

Tuck Everlasting is a story of two families, the Tucks, and the Fosters. Mae Tuck goes to meet her sons, Miles, and Jessie Tuck on a hot summer day. The same day, Winnie Foster thinks about escaping from her home. That night a stranger appears from the woods near her house. He said Winnie that he was meeting someone, but he didn’t mention the name. He asked Winnie’s grandmother if he could talk to Mr. Foster, but Winnie’s grandmother rejected. The next day, Winnie runs away from her house and gets lost in the woods. She meets Jessie Tuck, who was having a serious conversation with Winnie about drinking water which was hidden under a pile of pebbles. Then, Mae Tuck appears from nowhere with Miles Tuck who kidnap her away from the water. This is not the complete story, but I can give you a link to Amazon if you liked the starting summary of the book.

Here is the sentence from the book that I picked up:

“At twilight, the stranger sighed and walked back the way he came, twinkling the melody from the woods.”
